No specific agenda was set prior to the meeting.

The purpose of the meeting was to establish a steering committee to drive the TechNet Australia project. Chair stressed that attendance at meeting in no way meant an assumed commitment to working toward TechNet Aust.

A number of committee roles were identified and volunteers called to fill the positions.

Meetings to be held monthly (initially) using electronic media eg Lotus packages or Bulletin Boards. Chair to organise first electronic monthly electronic meeting.

TechNet Aust steering committee to drive the inputs for posting to the website.

2005-06 ? Charles Sturt University proposes possible conference toward the end 2005 (eg November), CSU requires 18months lead time. Miles Ryan to discuss with CSU colleagues to confirm by first TechNet Aust electronic meeting.

2006/07 Griffith University

Current TechTrain conference organising committee to provide all organisational information to the next conference group (possibly previous conference organisers as well).

TechNet UNSW offers assistance to any Universities in the development of their own Intra-net "TechNet".

Lyn Spencer discussed the difficulty of organising financials with multiple University structures.

John Urquhart suggests the need to identify a "TechNet Australia – Champion" at each university. Current attendees to fill role of University contact point for TechNet Australia until and individuals are specifically appointed.

John Urquhart address possible affiliations (eg ATEM – Aust Tertiary Education Managers) which may be appropriate to advertise TechNet platforms.
